Is LTX Desktop the same as LTX Studio?
No — LTX Desktop and LTX Studio are separate interfaces for accessing the LTX model. They share the same underlying model but are built for different workflows and run in completely different ways.
LTX Studio vs Desktop compared
| LTX Studio | LTX Desktop | |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Browser-based — no download needed | Downloadable desktop app |
| Platforms | Any device with a browser | Windows, Linux, macOS |
| Cost | Subscription-based with a free plan | Free to download; local generation is free on supported hardware |
| Generation | Always runs through the LTX cloud | Locally on your GPU (Windows/Linux), or via the LTX API (macOS and unsupported hardware) |
| Workflow | End-to-end production: storyboarding, generation, editing, collaboration | AI video generation and timeline editing |
| Open source | No | Yes |
Which one should I use?
If you want a browser-based interface with a full production workflow and no setup, LTX Studio is the better fit. If you want to run the open-weight LTX model directly — either locally on your own GPU or via the API — LTX Desktop is the right choice.
The two interfaces don't share accounts, projects, or credits.
