Adding collaborators to your project
Some plans can add collaborators, making it possible to work jointly on a project directly within LTX Studio. Collaborators are people with edit access: Editors and Owners. Pro plans support up to 3 collaborators, while Enterprise team plans can support unlimited. Each collaborator needs their own account and works from their own plan's credits and features.
What's a collaborator?
Collaborators turn your project into a shared workspace, so your team can generate, edit, and review assets together in real time. There are two roles with edit access:
- Editor: Can generate and delete assets within the project, but can't delete the entire project or change project access settings.
-
Owner: Can do everything an editor can, plus:
- change or remove project roles;
- control link sharing settings;
- delete the project for everyone;
- and transfer ownership to another person.
How many collaborators can I add?
The number of collaborators you can add depends on your plan:
- Pro plans include up to 3 collaborators per project, including yourself.
- Enterprise plans support unlimited collaborators.
On a Pro plan but need more collaborators for your team? Talk to us about an Enterprise plan.
How to add a collaborator
- Open the project you want to share.
- Click Share in the top-right corner.
- Enter the person's email address and assign them a role (Editor or Owner).
- Click Invite. They'll receive an email invitation to access the project.
As the project owner, you can remove access or resend invitations at any time from the Share menu.
Collaborators work from their own plan
Adding a collaborator doesn't add them to your plan – it adds them to your project. Each collaborator still needs their own LTX Studio account and works entirely within the limits of their own plan. This means:
- Collaborators use their own credits while generating on your project.
- Collaborators can only access features included in their own plan.
FAQs
Why is my collaborator being asked to log in?
Everyone needs their own LTX Studio account to access a shared project. They'll be working from their own plan's credits and features while collaborating.
Can my collaborators use my credits?
No. Each person uses their own plan's credits. There's no shared credit pool, and you can't transfer credits to collaborators.
Does my collaborator have to be on the same plan as me?
No, collaborators can be on any plan. What they can do on your project depends on their own plan's credit allowance and features.
Why can't my collaborator use the same features as me?
They're likely on a different plan. Collaborators can only use the features available on their own plan. They can upgrade their account to unlock the same features as you.
Does the 3-collaborator limit on Pro mean 3 seats on my plan?
No. It means 3 people can have edit access to your project, each on their own separate plan and subscription.
How can an Editor remove themselves from a project?
Editors can delete the project from their Projects folder, which revokes their own access without affecting the project or anyone else's access. To become an Editor again, they'll need to be re-invited by the Owner.
